Such a solid debut! Never thought I’d end up loving Reza Rahadian’s first feature this much. It’s quiet, slow, minimal — barely says a word but speaks straight to the heart. At first, I thought it’d just revolve around the Kopi Pangku phenomenon along the Pantura highway, but it turns out to be so much more. It’s also about a mother’s fight for life — shown through Sartika, a single mom struggling to protect the baby inside her.
And trust me, even with the slow pacing, you won’t get bored for a second. The visuals alone will spoil you — simple yet grand, with beautiful color grading. Every shot isn’t just pretty to look at, it feels something — it adds weight, emotion, and depth.
