Frank needs a job and a place to stay and his uncle Dave makes him a deal ... he can live at the Pit as long as he's willing to be superintendent. Annie's mother comes to town and the two try to spend as much time together as possible. Chris runs away because Jan doesn't have enough time to spend with her. Frank and Annie lock horns over her finding him in her apartment.

Lucille and Ernie decide to try to have a baby. Jan goes out to a concert with Wade, causing Mack to rethink his feelings for her.

Frank gets Dave to listen to Wade's band, but Dave says he'll only sign them without Frank as a songwriter. Jan tries to study for the LSAT but a mouse has invaded their apartment.

Teena wants back in just as Frank and Annie decide to try again. Mack takes Jan on a trip to the neighbourhood where he grew up.

Stuart proposes a plan to avoid deportation to the US. Frank deals with a plumbing problem, and attempts to re-establish his relationship with Annie.

Annie gets cold feet about Stuart's plan to avoid deportation.
