Jeremy invites life-long best pal Charlie to move into a post-college apartment with him and Samantha so expenses can be split 3 ways instead of 2. Does it complicate things that Charlie and Samantha dated (and broke up badly) back in college? Well, yes.

We meet Mrs. Doyle (Doris Roberts), and see troubling similarities with her son, Sgt. Laurence Doyle as she firms up the B-day party catering gig... which The Day Crew will now handle, as payback from 4 to 9er Seth for making him train Noob employee Joe.

Doyle asks Samantha for help on his Mom's "lady problem", Joe continues to look to Sam like a corporate spy, the guys cater the Doyles' birthday bash and observe some mother-son dance moves which nobody in a civilized society should be forced to see.

Mrs. Doyle presents the Day Crew a BIG tip, Jeremy's luck with the ladies continues (Charlie's doesn't), new 4 to 9er hire Joe gets even more under Sam's (and now Seth's) skin, and any lingering romantic embers between Sam and Charlie seem way dead.

Seth nearly makes a career-ending mistake, Jeremy reveals himself as basically just a slut at heart, Samantha gets what could be a promising nibble on the TV News job front, and then almost gets a literal nibble on the Charlie front. We know, shocker.
