P.C. Penrose first day on the job bumps in to an expectant father desperate for help. Under the watchful eye of Sergeant Flagg, the pair go in search of the chicken killer.

P.C. Penrose and P.C. Buttress are the night shift with a peeping tom is on the loose. Penrose joins Sgt Flagg in dealing with the sudden death of Mr Newbold. Inspector Fox is determined to keep W.P.C. Dean as close as possible.

With Sergeant Flagg and P.C. Buttress at a function in Newcastle-Under-Lyme, P.C. Penrose in charge of Slagcaster station. Inspector Fox reinvents himself as Sherlock Holmes. Clogger brings in a drunk who needs help.

Sergeant Flack starts to take bets on who will be found guilty or innocent when the officers go to court to give evidence.
