Johnny falls in love with a girl who loves adventure and dreams of going to Nepal named Barbara. Meanwhile, Stefania's mother is about to give birth and, to look after the house and look after her younger sister, she asks her daughter for help.

Giuliana perceives a strange interest in her from a philosophy substitute teacher and discovers that there had been a relationship between him and her mother Stefania: the professor could be her real father. Gigi takes Debora to an apartment, but the two boys don't know they're being filmed making love: their friends try to convince them of the need to file a complaint.

Mitzi's marriage proposal to Elena does not calm the waters, because the first disagreements arise from Mitzi's affirmation that she does not want to be present during the birth due to the sight of blood. Meanwhile Andrea moves in and makes friends with the new roommate Marcello, brother of a skinhead.

Sara attends a dance audition without her mother's knowledge, but is rejected. Giuliana tries to recommend her friend through Alessandro, an assistant at the dance school, in order to see him again. In the meantime, however, Franz declares himself to her and, when he discovers the truth, he decides to take a step back and wait.

After being treated badly by Stefania following the rejection, Cristian lets himself be seduced by Giada. Simone, too agitated for the high school exam and unable to handle the pressure of his father, begins to take amphetamines. He continues the push and pull between Cristian and Stefania, while Simone makes a silent scene at the exams, runs away and spends an evening in the disco between alcohol and drugs. Sara begs him not to drive in those conditions, but in vain.

Simone and Sara, after going off-road, wake up in the hospital. His parents and friends are all at Simone's bedside, but he realizes he can't move his legs. Elena and Mitzi face financial problems for the wedding and Elena decides to postpone and go to an aunt in Arezzo. Simone's father offers his son an intervention in America, but he doesn't have the strength to react. Only Sara will be able to change his mind.

The boys start working during the summer to be able to visit Simone in America. Gigi's father would like to force him to return to their country of origin where he has already found him a place at the municipality, but he refuses and starts working as a waiter with Johnny. There Gigi meets Marisol, a Colombian girl who has a child to support. Franz, meanwhile, tries to propose to a musician a song written by him for Simone.

The money to visit Simone in America is not enough for everyone and the boys decide that only Sara will go to him; however, the girl is undecided about leaving because of the dance show. Stefania believes she has suddenly grown up after meeting Marco, an entrepreneur, who however later discovers that he has a wife and a daughter. Having repented, she advises Sara to go to Simone and face her past.

Cristian makes a bad acquaintance in the disco: it is Ivan, a boy who will lead him into a dangerous circle that will also lead him to hurt Stefania. Meanwhile, pregnant Elena is looking for a job.

Mitzi doesn't know how to deal with a large condominium expense and proposes an executive eviction for the beer garden near her house in which Andrea and Gigi are investing. Elena, when she hears about this, she dumps him.

Paola, a girl with decidedly intense reactions, meets Johnny and becomes attached to him, but then approaches Cristian, which ignites Stefania's jealousy. Paola confides in Debora and explains that her brother abuses her every night, but when Cristian rejects her, the girl runs away from her and Debora discovers the truth about her.

Stefania, Andrea and Giuliana carry out an entertainment activity for children and meet little Davide, an unfortunate child who is the victim of domestic violence. Meanwhile, Giuliana's father is unable to confess to the family that he has lost his job.

Elena gives birth in the hospital while Mitzi is out of town and Johnny pretends to be her husband so as not to leave her alone. Cristian and Stefania manage to save Stefania's younger sister from a dangerous situation. Meanwhile, in the hospital, Elena and Mitzi's baby needs an urgent transfusion from a person whose blood is not infected with the HIV virus: all the friends offer to help.

Gigi trains her cousin Angelo in order to get him a title in weightlifting, but discovers that all the athletes do drugs. Meanwhile Franz has to write lyrics for a song and asks Giuliana to make love on the pretext of finding inspiration. The girl will write her text in her own hand, but fearing Franz's judgment she will send it to him anonymously.

Stefania and Giuliana help their schoolmate's HIV-positive boy by trying to raise awareness of the problem: they also convince Franz and Cristian to take the test, but Cristian finally backs down without saying anything to his girlfriend. Elena decides to go back to school, but she can't reconcile with her son.

Sara, on her return from America, informs everyone that her story with Simone is over and finds her new partner and teenage daughter at home with her mother. Meanwhile, Mirko decides to sell the place, but Gigi, Johnny and Andrea ask him for time.

Franz has inherited a property colonized by homeless people: he wants to use it to make music and tries to send them away, but he argues with Giuliana who reproaches him for not understanding their situation. A homeless man, Ernesto, tries to make them stop and puts one of his poems in Giuliana's bag, pretending it is Franz's. When he reads it on the radio, he is so successful that he has to ask Ernesto to write more.

A protest breaks out in the school caused by a circular on the decency in clothing imposed on girls. Cristian, Andrea and Johnny distribute an offensive magazine against the teachers. For the civil service, Johnny will have to relate to the children of a nomad camp.

Elena decides to find a job to become independent from her husband Mitzi, who wanted to go to Bologna for an important assignment. The girl chooses to go to Milan to model for a month, but the babysitter leaves little Pietro alone and Mitzi will have to turn to Sara for help.

Cristian's mother discovers she is pregnant, while Giuliana investigates her Jewish origins and tries to understand why her father has always hidden them from her. Giacomo, at school, prefers to organize a concert rather than deal with the commemoration of the roundup of the Rome ghetto.

Nando, Debora's father, has to ask for a loan from a financial company to pay the criminals who ask him for protection money. Gigi, investigating, discovers that the finance company is in agreement with the extortionists. Despite the solidarity of Debora's companions who help Nando to increase sales, the shop is set on fire before their eyes.

Gigi meets Aquila at his home to convince him to report the loan sharks who hired him, but Aquila explains that he needs that job to pay for the care his older brother needs. Sara meets Lucrezia during an audition, a girl who suggests she give herself a little more to be successful and takes her into a bad ride.

Franz needs a synthesizer to work in the disco and he needs 8 million: he is involved by Luca in a gambling den in which he loses everything. Meanwhile Andrea passes an important audition, but not for the role he expected.

Stefania's father, returning from Africa, brings two children and a woman with him: Stefania discovers that one of the children is her brother.
